Sydney, Australia (12th-15th Nov 2008)

Flight No: CX111 (HKG-SYD)
Date: 12th - 15th Nov 2008
Flying Hours: 9 hours 10 mins
(GMT +1100)

My second time to Australia after my Adelaide flight last month. Sydney is a very beautiful place with very friendly and nice peoples, the architecture is unique. The weather in Sydney is very hot as it is summer time now, however it is windy during night time, quite cooling.

Sydney is the most populous city in Australia, with a metropolitan area population of approximately 4.28 million (2006 estimate). It is the state capital of New South Wales, and was the site of the first British colony in Australia. It was established in 1788 at Sydney Cove by Arthur Phillip, leader of the First Fleet from Britain. A resident of the city is referred to as a Sydneysider.
Sydney is situated on Australia's south-east coast. The city is built around Port Jackson, which includes Sydney Harbour, leading to the city's nickname, "the Harbour City". It is noted for the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge, and its beaches. The metropolitan area is surrounded by national parks, and contains many bays, rivers and inlets. It is listed as a beta world city by the Loughborough University group's 1999 inventory. The city has hosted international sporting, political and cultural events, including the 1938 British Empire Games, 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2003 Rugby World Cup. In September 2007, the city hosted the leaders of the 21 APEC economies for APEC Australia 2007, and in July 2008 hosted World Youth Day 2008. The main airport serving Sydney is Sydney Airport.
Sydney is one of the most multicultural cities in the world, which reflects its role as a major destination for immigrants to Australia. According to the Mercer cost of living survey, Sydney is Australia’s most expensive city, and the 15th most expensive in the world.

My flight to Sydney was an awesome one as this is my second time operating a long haul flight(9 hours) and I've got more time to spend with the passenger, which is totally different from operating a short haul & medium haul flight where we have to finish the service within a short time period. You'll feel really happy when the passengers tell you that they are very happy and satisfy that they choose to travel with Cathay Pacific.
This time was really happy as there're quite a number of my classmates (Alan, Nicholas, Huan-Yin, Carol, Siove, Jovan, Samantha, Natalie, Denis & Suet-Mun) who're flying to Sydney at the same time too, but we were operating different flight. It's so fun seeing them there as we can spend time together enjoy our trip in Sydney.
It's strongly recommended that you'll have to try the Rib Eye and Pork Rib at The Meat & Wine Co., although it is quite expensive but the environment and quality of food and service are fantastic, hardly for me to go for fine dining but the money I paid for was really worth it. I've promised to myself that I will not miss visiting the restaurant again next time when I fly to Sydney. The red wine I had was very smooth and nice ... Mhmmm... Yummy!!!
Dessert time after our sumptous dinner .... (we're gonna get FAT)
I was shocked when he suddenly hold my arms ... after taking pictures, he asked me to pay ... hohoho!!!
Crazy moments ....
Sydney Opera House is awesome ....
Chicken Little ...
the Harbour Bridge, the heaviest bridge in the world, don't know how many millions tons of metal were used to build it
Check this out, man ....
Thanks so much to the Indian photographer ... =D
WOW!!!
HOT chicks ...
the Jetcruiser ride was fantastic & full of excitement, the sea water splashed onto our bodies, we were so wet .... (got the promotion price 2 for AUD60, supposed to be one at AUD55)
I took this pic in the Jetcruiser, luckily manage to get this shot although the jet was shaking crazily ..... This is so beautiful, can you imagine their life there?
with my buddy, Alan Yap
We were the first 2 to get onto the Jetcruiser .... it's all ours Darling Harbour - it is so beautiful during night time as you can see the night city view of Sydney just right opposite of the harbour. I was staying at Novotel which is just located beside the Darling Harbour, it's very convenient to walk around.
Hahaha, this is freaking funny ...
the boy suddenly came by and took the picture together with me, initially I plan to take alone ...
What is this .... ???
Waiting for my Ice Blended Coffee, Australia is famous with its coffee .... so there's no way I'll miss it
Finally we met in Sydney as we have said during the contract briefing time in KL that we'll go Sydney one day .... couldn't believe the day has come so fast ...
Time for S.E.A.F.O.O.D at the famous Sydney Fish Market, it's well-known of its fresh and cheap variaty of seafood.

Yummy, Yummy SEAFOOD ....
